Acrobat

As an acrobat leveling from 15 to 60 you have mainly two choices: Either leveling with Yoyos or a bow using skills. Using a bow is usually faster but dependent on RNG while using yoyos your leveling route is more consistent and steady. Either way it has no influence on your further journey as your stats gets resetted at the 2nd jobchange and you still have a Re-Skill from your first jobchange, which is not needed in general. Only if you have access to high rm buffs paired with upgraded gear, Auto attack becomes viable but else it is not recommended.

Yo-Yo Acrobat

Using yoyos you put every statpoint into STR. For attacking skills you spam Slow Step from 15 to level 60 (Cross Line has a slightly better dmg output but the animation time is longer resulting into less dps) at level 40 you can also use Deadly Swing to initiate an attack on a monster followed up by Slow Step spam. Focus on the passive skills Yo-Yo Mastery at level 30 and Perfect Block later on. Fast Walker might be practical especially if you lack movement speed. Counter Attack is useful for giant hunting (it secures for one attack and stuns only if you are in melee range) and Dark Illusion good for loosing aggro but both skills are definietly not a priority.

Bow Acrobat

You should be full DEX when using a bow. You use Junk Arrow till 35 then Aimed Shot and later Auto Shot on cooldown if you have enough skillpoints. Just like the Yoyo acrobat route you want to have Perfect Block and probably Fast Walker but instead of Yo-Yo Mastery prioritize Bow Mastery.

Your assist should focus on Mental Sign, Quick Step, (Beef Up if you use Yoyos), (Cannon Ball for bows and later useful for Jester), followed by defensive skills. Later your Ringmaster should maximize Spirit Fortune and Geburah Tiphreth as soon as possible. All attacking / offensive skills should be the priority. There is no special gear which boosts your damage significantly, so normal npc gear is enough. For the weapon keep an eye on weapon attack and skill awake. Unlikey other classes Acrobat has no uncommon weapons which grants useful atributes; the rare weapons also does not have an effect on skill damage and thus can be ignored. Weapon upgrade or element upgrade are neglectable for improving skill damage. Premium items like for example Upcut Stone and Flask of the Tiger boosts your damage but it is more advised to save it for later process. On the other hand Activation cannot be used properly later since most Jester or Harlequin skills have a cooldown but Activation makes your acrobat leveling much more convenient. Definietly adviced to use it if you already have it. Also Power Scroll boosts your damage in early game relatively more than later.

Jester

As a Jester you only use Yoyos. Bow Jester is not viable in Flyff Universe. Here you still may further progress the first five levels with skills preferably with Multi-Stab but as soon as you get Critical Swing you switch to auto attack. Unlike other classes you unlock an AoE skill Jester's Blast only at level 100 which is situational. Refer to AoE Topic for that. Only 1v1 is explained in the following. For auto attack both the upgrade level and the correct element (also the element upgrade level) of the weapon improve your damage significantly.

Gear progression

  • Level – Set
  • 60-105 – [Set:3354] / Rorend Suit set (both equally strong Rorend Suit set may take the lead in earlier levels and is tankier over all but [Set:3354] has an advantage once you have access to Geburah Tiphreth)
  • 90-105 – optional: [Set:9119] ( is a bit better but probably not worth for 15 levels: other sets are still fine till 105)
  • 105-135 – [Set:3178]
  • 135-150 – [Set:2359]
  • 150+ – [Set:19219] / [Set:10756] set (once you have at least [Set:17716] and Lusaka's Crystal Yo-Yo / Typhoon it may be minimal weaker but much more tankier)
  • Level – Weapon
  • 60-75 – Guardian Yo-Yo
  • 75-105 – Historic Yo-Yo (in some cases it is not an improvement to Guardian Yo-Yo as you loose attack speed and critical chance but once you unlock Geburah Tiphreth or use Rorend Suit set the difference is noticible)
  • 105-120 – Legendary Golden Yo-Yo
  • 120-150 – Bloody Yo-Yo ( it is stronger but you should compensate for critical chance loss)
  • 150+ – Lusaka's Crystal Yo-Yo / Typhoon (slightly weaker and riskier in densed spawns but it is usually much more affordable)
  • Dependend on personal stat distribution: Arek Ring (Dexion +1) / Vigor Ring (Strente +1)
  • Demol Earring (Mighteer +1)
  • Gore Necklace (Pep +1)
  • Ultimate Jewelry Set: [Set:17716]

Stat distribution

In comparison to other classes, the stat distribution is a bit more complicated for Jester. You gain attack with STR but unlike other classes you gain 4% critical chance for every 10 DEX. This is highly beneficial for this class but it leaves room for different viable stat distributions. The goal is to reach 100% critical chance at level 105+ but this breakpoint depends heavily on your gear and your Ringmaster buffs. For example without any premium items you need in total 80 DEX with Legendary Golden Yo-Yo and [Set:3178], but needing 30 to 40 DEX more once you switch to Bloody Yo-Yo. With [Set:17716] and level 150 gear you need little to none additional DEX, so it varies as you make progress. Before level 105 aim high for critical chance but do not force it; you are not having much critical damage anyway. There are two prominent stat distributions: Full STR and get your needed DEX via e.g. DEX accessories, Scroll of Dexterity, Cloak of Precision and maybe use of premium items. At some level ranges it is difficult hitting 100% critical chance but you can adjust your gear accordingly. Stat up to ~50 DEX and adjust your gear a little if neccessary. It is clearly less a hustle as you will not have any problems hitting 100% critical chance or at least are close to it but sometimes your exceed it and this is suboptimal; at around level 150 you may invest in a Re-Stat (DEX). Regardless of your choice both ways are fine: both have pros and cons it is personal preference.

Skill build

Although it is easy to maximize all skills as a Jester, following skills should be prioritized:

  • Multi-Stab useful for the first 5 levels
  • Critical Swing
  • Enchant Blood or Enchant Poison until lvl 70
  • Enchant Absorb
  • Escape is useful in giant hunting

Further explanation of enchant buffs

Only one enchant buff can be active at a time. All three grants 5% attack, Enchant Poison and Enchant Blood trigger damage ticks Poison and Bleeding respectively while Enchant Absorb trigger Steal HP. Each hit has a 30% chance to trigger those effects. The decreased hp restoration from Poison and the decreased attack speed and casting time reduction from Bleeding have no influence on any monster; those attributes are only relevant in PvP. Both ticks every 1.5s and each tick does 15% of your non-critical normal auto attack damage. So in that regard both effects are identical. On the other hand Steal HP heals you for 5% of the hit's damage similar to Lifesteal. But in contrast to Lifesteal you deal this amount as damage on top. So each hit which triggers Steal HP does 5% more damage. Statistically you will do more damage with Enchant Absorb, if you have 100% attack speed, 100% critical chance and at least 130% additional critical damage. Keep in mind even if you cannot fulfill these criteria, the damage difference of those effects are neglible. In the end using Enchant Absorb is much more convenient and thus advised to use.

Premium items

For auto attack, Upcut Stone and the correct element stone from Elemental Upcut Stone Box affects your damage the most. Potion of Recklessness and Flask of the Rabbit are very helpful to hit 100% critical chance but expensive if you rely on these in the long run. Concoction of Profuse Bleeding boosts your damage quite a bit.

Harlequin

Compared to other classes, in terms of 1v1 damage Jester falls off at the later levels but it rises again as a Harlequin. A Harlequin gets quite many selfbuffs from 166 to 175 improving its damage:

Harlequin skills / buffs

A 3rd Job class is a bit different as its skills have masteries and also dependent on other skills via the synergy effect. Only one mastery each skill can be used so choose carefully. The following list shows the Harlequin skill build to maximize your 1v1 damage.

Always try to maximize the synergy effects, e.g. having max level Enchant Blood for Toxic Fury. To be clear, you don't need to use the synergy skills: Its skill level is all what matters. All in all you need to recast two skills every two minutes, one skill every five minutes, one every ten minutes and two every 20+minutes. It is a bit of a hustle but you are getting used to it.

  • Toxic Fury (No Pain No Gain) (negative effects does not have much influence if you have a Ringmaster with you; you can negate your self inflicted damage-over-time with Escape or Gvur Tialla)
  • Special Yo-Yo Mastery (Auto Attack) (statistically a tiny bit better than Special Yo-Yo Mastery (Multistrike), especially if Holycross is applied)
  • Critical Stab (Reduced Cooldown) (slightly better than Critical Stab (Reduced Penalty) if you also manage to compensate the 5% critical chance difference)
  • Master of Toxins and Toxic Analogy are very useful passives for PvE in combination with Enchant Poison
  • Harlequin's Greeting (Range Increase) is a nice gap close skill. An issue is that it does not automatically continue to attack even if auto attack is enabled. To bypass this issue you can hold the button a bit instead of pressing it briefly.

Gear progression

For purely 1v1 damage, both, [Set:37083] and [Set:55971] are viable. Although [Set:37083] is really helpful to compensate the critical chance loss from Critical Stab and being the better choice in suboptimal builds, [Set:55971] on the other hand might take the lead, if you consider many premium items and your build / gear is optimized respectively. For example you can compensate the critical chance loss via Shining Emerald (5) for ultimate weapons fairly easy. In the end the difference of both for an optimized build is pretty small and it is dependent on some factors, to determine on which one is ultimately better. However [Set:55971] offers a lot of defensive values which are really helpful especially in Kaillun with a lot of crowded spawns, while Prankster's Escape of [Set:37083] is not that useful there.

  • Dementia is the endgame weapon for 1v1
  • Cursed Dementia is worse than Lusaka's Crystal Yo-Yo / Typhoon since they can be upgraded to ultimate weapons.

AoE Topic

Jester or Harlequin is not known for its AoE capabilities. You unlock the first AoE skill Jester's Blast with level 100, which bad reputation. It is highly situational, dependent on uncontested crowded spawns and thus often less efficient than 1v1 leveling. But Jester's Blast is quite an unique AoE skill: You can place a bomb on yourself or other targets with a four second countdown which then explodes doing 1.5x damage and 2x range. You can promt an explosion by recasting it but will loose the range and damage boost. From all Jester skills it has the longest range and the skill animation is pretty short in comparison. Another advantage is that it has no herd mechanic unlike all other AoE skills while heavily dependent on STR. Its properties suggest a HnR playstyle being full STR and in combination with Enchant Blood / Enchant Poison you can slowly kill while constantly pulling new monsters with Fast Walker. Natutrally its delayed explosion is enough to kill if used properly. It takes some practice how to move and lure efficiently and it is quite a struggle but it is the best way using it. Using Barrier of Life properly can even extend the time before monsters flee. Alternatively, similar to other classes, you can kill while facetanking with the help of Enchant Absorb. Optimally here you have to rotate between four different targets to get the mentioned range and damage boost. Its small cooldown, and its other properties leads to a difficult gameplay, playing the rm simultaneously. It may be risky, as you have to rely on your lifesteal from e.g. Enchant Absorb but having no other defensive tools like Stun etc.. Like already mentioned AoE Jester is often less efficient than 1v1 leveling. It rarely surpasses 1v1 but it is bounded to a lot of conditions and usually not advisable.

AoE Harlequin

However AoE as a Harlequin becomes really relevant at 175 ( even surpasses 1v1 leveling) as you unlock Toxic Cloud and Yo-Yo Storm. You basically pull with Jester's Blast and spam Yo-Yo Storm (Reduced Cooldown) (cooldown of this mastery is less than its long animation time and therefore spamable) in kill phase. Defensive wise you drop a Toxic Cloud (Gas Cloud) on your place which is estimated to reduce enemies hitrate by around 60% for 5-10 seconds. Helpful selfbuffs are Enchant Absorb, Fast Walker in pulling phase, optimally Special Yo-Yo Mastery (Range), if you have a dedicated AoE or PvP skill page (It does not improve the AoE radius but skills like Harlequin's Greeting (Range Increase) and Jester's Blast have a longer range). Also just like for 1v1 you benefit from Toxic Analogy, Master of Toxins and Toxic Fury (No Pain No Gain) and with Perfect Block you most likely hit the block cap or get close to it. Harlequin's Greeting (Range Increase) is a nice run away or gap close skill. AoE Harlequin should stat DEX as high as possible improving both: your parry and your damage of Yo-Yo Storm. But also adding STA for survivibility is most likely neccessary, especially in Kaillun. Having around 100 STA and rest DEX seems to be a solid stat distribution in terms of both damage and survibility but even having no DEX at all is still viable. Most of your damage comes from Waterbomb scaling with all stat points and thus having less DEX is not really noticible in damage.

AoE Gear Progression

Unexpectedly [Set:12670] is indeed stronger than [Set:16509] or [Set:17716] for AoE damage using a Typhoon, due to magic attack improves the damage of Waterbomb significantly. Regardless [Set:17716] is also fine, if you do not want to invest that much for a dedicated AoE build.

  • Level – Weapon – Armor
  • 100+ – Angel Yo-Yo – [Set:7192]
  • 105+ – Mythical Silver Yo-Yo for facetank build – [Set:7279] only for facetank build
  • 120+ – Bloody Yo-Yo / Bloody Obsidian Yo-Yo for facetank build – [Set:8383]
  • 150+ – Typhoon since Waterbomb is overpowered for AoE – [Set:10756]
  • 175+ – [Set:55971] (using Scroll of Reduction B from level up reward)

Harlequin Hybrid build

Especially in dungeons being build for 1v1 and AoE simultaneously is very possible. A Harlequin shines naturally with good 1v1 damage and having a hybrid build boosts your AoE contribution a lot while maintain good 1v1 damage, similar to e.g. Forcemaster. Using [Set:55971], Typhoon and [Set:17716] and using your 1v1 stat build is viable in both phases 1v1 and AoE. (Side note: A Typhoon using a element stone from Elemental Upcut Stone Box does comparable 1v1 damage as a similiar upgraded Dementia without an element upcut stone.) At around level 185 you can even maximize all relevant skills with its masteries for both phases in one skill page. Neglecting e.g. Toxic Cloud (Gas Cloud) a hybrid build is accessible as soon as you hit 175. In AoE phases you usually spam Yo-Yo Storm (Reduced Cooldown) except against monster types using AoE attacks e.g. [Anguished Soul] Mara, since it has a long animation time and you cannot react properly. Using Jester's Blast is the only possible option then. It is advised to turn off Auto attack in the settings for these AoE phases.

# Additional notes The following table lists additional useful things for appropriate playestyle.

Ranking for Scroll of Ultimate Bonus / Scroll of Ultimate Bonus II:

  • 1v1 – AoE
  • Pet – Critical Damage pet – Attack pet / HP pet
  • Weapon piercing – Thorn Card (A) – Volt Card (A)
  • Suit piercing – Lightning Card (7%) – Lightning Card (7%)
  • Cloak – Cloak of Strong / Cloak of Precision; alternatively Cloak of Coral – Cloak of Coral
  • Blessing of the Demon awake – critical damage % – action speed %
  • Scroll of Weapon Bonus awake – - – Jester's Blast (Yo-Yo Storm cannot be awaked on Typhoon)
  • Pve damage
  • Attack
  • Lifesteal for convenience
  • critical damage for 1v1 / Movement Speed for AoE

Poison topic

Multiple poison effects( for completeness bleeding effects aswell) on a target negate each other so only one poison debuff is active. It does not matter who inflict poison, multiple characters cannot bypass this. An exception are Poison (From Weapon): they work alongside poison effects from skills. The following order of prominent skills shows which poison effect cancels the other ones:

Even if poison effects are inactive the target might be flagged with these, leading to a false impression. Reapplying those leads only to a longer duration of the flag but an inactive effect. You have to wait until it is expired. With Master of Toxins and Toxic Analogy a Harlequin relies only on an active poison effect and should carefully using its skills. In particular Harlequin AoE should not use Enchant Poison in combination with Toxic Cloud. Or incombination with an Arcanist using Poison Cloud a harlequin should be aware using either Enchant Poison or Toxic Cloud.

  • Toxic Assault
  • Toxic Cloud
  • Poison Cloud
  • Poison from Enchant Poison
