Elemental Upgrade Guide
Important Information Before Upgrading
⚠️ Tip: Sometimes the element icons show the disadvantage first. A down arrow means reduced damage, an up arrow means increased damage.
- Monsters have +30% resistance to one element (taking less damage) and -30% resistance to the opposing element (taking more damage).
- Having the advantageous element on your weapon (e.g., +1 Water against a Fire monster) grants:
- +30% damage due to enemy’s negative resistance.
- Additional % attack power from the upgrade itself.
- In short, aim for at least +1 elemental advantage for:
- ~7% attack boost
- ~30% damage boost
Attack Types and Elemental Effects
as long as the weapon’s element matches the skill’s element.
- Elemental resistances apply to all attack types.
- The +1 to +10 upgrade values affect only auto-attacks.
- Elemental skills receive a flat 10% bonus from upgrades between +1 and +10,
General Information
- Each +1 elemental level on your weapon increases or decreases your attack power for auto-attacks.
- Each +1 elemental level on your suit increases or decreases your defense.
Elemental Relationships
- Elements are effective clockwise in the elemental chart.
- The higher the upgrade (+1 to +10), the greater the increase/decrease.
Examples
- Fire Weapon:
- Deals more damage to Wind monsters.
- Deals less damage to Water monsters.
- No change against Fire monsters.
- Fire Suit:
- Takes less damage from Wind monsters.
- Takes more damage from Water monsters.

- Water – Lake Card – River Card

- Wind – Erons + Krasec
- Fire – Erons + Guru
- Water – Krasec + Guru
- Earth – Mineral + Guru
Upgrade Pity System
- Flyff Universe uses an Upgrade Pity System for weapons, armor, accessories, piercing, and elemental upgrades.
- The idea: with each failed attempt, the chance of success increases, reducing extreme variance in outcomes.
- The math is based on a Markov chain: e.g. if base chance is 2%, it might start at 0.062% and increase by 0.062% per failed attempt.
- The number of failed attempts is tied to the item, not the player. So when trading items, the fail-count carries over.
- You can see the current number of failed attempts on the item tooltip.
