Upgrade Pity System
- Flyff Universe uses an Upgrade Pity System for weapons, armor, accessories, piercing, and elemental upgrades.
- The idea: with each failed attempt, the chance of success increases, reducing extreme variance in outcomes.
- The math is based on a Markov chain: e.g. if base chance is 2%, it might start at 0.062% and increase by 0.062% per failed attempt.
- The number of failed attempts is tied to the item, not the player. So when trading items, the fail-count carries over.
- You can see the current number of failed attempts on the item tooltip.
Piercing Removal Selection
Piercing cards can be removed at one of the upgrade NPCs for example Boboko, the NPC in Central Flarine Players can choose which piercing card to remove from their Suit, Weapon, or Shield. This prevents losing all cards inserted afterward. However, the removed card is permanently lost.
